Cactus Paper Pumpkin Alternative

I am really loving the Paper Pumpkin.  This is last month's "leftovers".  The original kit was a wreath, but it had all kinds of green cactus looking pieces, so that's what I made.  The little flower is just from a scalloped punch trimmed into fourths.

Although most of the items on this card have retired, I just wanted to feature my alternative to Paper Pumpkin.

Wilderness Awaits

Hi Stampers.  I sure hate it when life gets in the way of my stamping!  That's what has happened in the past few weeks.  Hopefully I'm back!

Today's card is a nice guy card.  The duck from The Wilderness Awaits stamp set was stamped on sahara sand and lightly colored.  The background uses the Woodland embossing folder (returning in the 2016-2017 catalog).  I'm going to miss the mossy meadow in color.  Such a rich color....but the new in colors are very pretty.  Check them out below.  Only two weeks to wait!

Gel Pen Shadow

This is one of the technique cards from last month.  I called it gel pen shadowing.  It's pretty basic, actually.  Simply use a gel pen and highlight the flower on just the outside edges of the petals, not the entire image.  Once the "shadow" is added, it makes the entire image just pop! (Unfortunately the gel pen is on the retired list) ... The timeless textures stamp was also used for the background to give it a little more depth.
